* Performing a Song  *
A song is publicly performed (called - Performance Royalties) when it is
heard by the public as a live performance whether it is at a website or
broadcast from a source such as cable/satalite tv), radio (any format), or a
business establishment being heard on a loudspeaker in a waiting room.
Even if the live performance is for free (
no charge to the public) to include
a nonprofit the performance still falls under the copyright law(s). The party
playing the song must pay money for the performance.
